SACE Change Network | November 2021 update Capabilities

A project focused on identifying the capabilities students are entitled to develop to thrive, and how they can be assessed.

What did we do?

  • Synthesised our the findings of most valued qualities from data collected from schools, tertiary institutions and industry stakeholders. 
  • Mapped four future capabilities (plus Personal Enterprise) to dimensions and indicator level.
  • Continued engagement plan with industry and tertiary sector.

What did we learn?

  • The SACE Change Network’s interest has moved beyond the ‘what’ the future capabilities will be to ‘how’ the capabilities will be assessed.
  • Industry and tertiary stakeholders have confidence in high-level constructs.
  • There is industry and tertiary support and enthusiasm for the value and utility of SACE capabilities.

So what?

  • The National Constructs will complement, not hinder the SACE Board’s work to identify future capabilities.
  • We can develop capabilities that are supported and resonate with stakeholders.
  • It is time for Future Capabilities and Learner Profile projects to come together.
