What was the inspiration behind your work?

My initial inspiration was a set of motorbike handlebars. We have beautiful natural ocean and animals around us and I wanted to show or describe this beauty with the so called "junk" which would normally be a burden on our lives.  

Tell us about the creative process you took with your work.

I went for a walk in nature and took some photographs. I had a think, then got a good night’s sleep, and then thought more about my idea, until I was so excited with my idea that I couldn’t stop myself from getting started.

What advice would you have to Stage 2 Visual Arts students in 2020? 

The work load is large, but it's only difficult if you're not enjoying what you're doing. Make sure you find inspiration that is close to you and have a mindset that you are creating something for yourself not just the school criteria.

What pathway have you taken after your SACE?

I have just started my first year in Bachelor of architecture.
