Innovating the SACE | Subject renewal | Subject Renewal Groups | UPDATE FOR 30 JULY

Subject Renewal Groups

Subject Renewal Groups (SRGs), each focusing on a specific subject area, are being formed to carry out longer-term and more innovative changes.

The SACE Board received a total of 948 expressions of interest from 717 educators representing 166 schools, from which 487 educators will participate in over 50 SRGs. Selection was based on criteria to maximise the diversity of schools and teachers participating.

Approaching subject renewal through co-design, the groups will see students and teachers working together to pilot and test proposed changes.

Consistent with the SACE Board’s belief in the power of partnerships and its commitment to co-design, Subject Renewal will be enriched by the learnings and experience of students, and the expertise of teachers and leaders.

Those not selected to be part of the SRGs will have further opportunity to be involved. Active engagement and communication may include:

  • annual sector-wide conferences
  • scheduled opportunities to connect and work with subject renewal groups
  • regular communications and progress updates
