The language studied in this subject is the modern standard or official version of Chinese known as ‘Putonghua’ in the spoken form and ‘simplified character text’ in the written form. Competency in this language will give you the option to pursue careers in interpreting, translation, and health both here in Australia and overseas. Stage 1 and Stage 2 Chinese at continuers level is available to students who have studied Chinese throughout secondary school.
