This is a subject that will give you insights into both literary and everyday texts and language. You will read a range of texts and learn how to analyse stylistic features and how they contribute to and enhance the content. You will learn about different types of texts and different interpretations and perspectives. By creating your own texts, you will also see how language can shape a message and be used as a vital tool of communication. Students who complete this subject with a C– grade or better will meet the literacy requirement of the SACE. Studying this subject could lead to a wide range of career paths, such as journalist, editor, writer, or teacher.
