Studying the SACE | Subjects | Korean (background speakers) (subject description)
Korean (background speakers)
Learning to speak, read, and write a second language will deepen your understanding of another culture and of your own language, thus enriching your life. You will lean the modern standard version of Korean, by studying three themes — Self and Others, Tradition and Change in Korean-speaking Communities, and Global Issues. Competency in this language will give you the option to pursue careers in interpreting, translation, education, and health both in Australia and overseas. Stage 1 and Stage 2 Korean at background speakers level is available to students who have a background in Korean and who have had more than a year’s education in a country where Korean is spoken.
