Teaching the SACE | Assessment | Supervision and verification of student work
Supervision and verification of student work (making sure a student's work is their own)
Students must only produce and submit work that is their own.
All students are required to sign a declaration that they have read and understood the rules for undertaking assessment in the SACE.
For school assessments, if a teacher suspects a student has not submitted their own work, the issue should be dealt with internally by the school. For external assessments that involve an investigation assessment type, the issue must be referred to the SACE Board. In both cases, teachers must follow the procedure outlined in Breach of rules (Information sheet 03).
Using record sheets to verify work
A record sheet is used to record and authenticate each student’s work.
For school assessments, teachers may choose to use or adapt the record sheet. For external assessments that involve an investigation assessment type, the record sheet must be used.
All record sheets must be kept in the school until the end of the current clerical check period.
