"Record Piece displays musicians who have influenced my life and the way that I live it. The artist that had influenced my work is Daniel Edlen, an American painter who paints portraits of musicians onto their own records. This highly inspired my pieces as I liked the idea of painting musicians onto records, then choosing the musicians who I listen to most frequently and those who have most influenced me and had a positive effect on my life. Along with being inspired by Edlen, I have been influenced by the trend of painting onto records. Some popular designers paint clouds or sunsets onto the entire record with the soft pretty aesthetic for them to be hung onto a wall. Displaying vinyls on walls as decor is also a large visual trend right now. It has influenced me to start creating my own vinyl collection."
