Auslan is a dynamic and visual language using hand gestures and is the language of the Australian sign linguistic minority group. You will be expected to be competent in Auslan, but regional variations are recognised when used appropriately. This subject will give you the skills to communicate meaningfully with people across cultures. It will also allow you to understand how Deaf culture and identity are expressed through its natural signed language.
