The English responding to texts is assessed by the school.
Assessment Type 2: Creating Texts
The English creating texts is assessed by the school.
Assessment Type 3: Intertextual Study
The English intertextual study is assessed by the school.
Stage 1 English is a subject that can meet the compulsory literacy requirement of the SACE when completed with a C grade or better. It is is assessed by the school and moderated at Stage 1. Schools, based on a cycle, are requested to prepare and submit moderation materials. South Australian and SACE International schools use the list of Stage 1 key dates to plan for moderation. Northern Territory schools will receive information about Stage 1 moderation from the NT Department of Education.

To ensure academic integrity, assessment must be based on the work students have produced without undue assistance from other people or sources. See Supervision and verification of student work.

Assessment Type 1: Responding to Texts (30%)
The English Responding to texts is assessed by the school and moderated at Stage 2. Teachers select moderation samples and submit materials online.
Assessment Type 2: Creating Texts (40%)
The English Creating texts is assessed by the school and moderated at Stage 2. Teachers select moderation samples and submit materials online.
