Stage 1 General Mathematics is a subject that can meet the compulsory numeracy requirement of the SACE when completed with a C grade or better. It is assessed by the school and moderated at Stage 1. Schools, based on a cycle, are requested to prepare and submit moderation materials. South Australian and SACE International schools use the list of Stage 1 key dates to plan for moderation. Northern Territory schools will receive information about Stage 1 moderation from the NT Department of Education.
At Stage 1, schools set assessment weightings. For setting relative assessment types and weightings, and guidelines for using grades and performance standards to assess student achievement, see Assessment and reporting guidelines [PDF 148KB]
To ensure academic integrity, assessment must be based on the work students have produced without undue assistance from other people or sources. See Supervision and verification of student work.
