Stage 2 Assessment Type 3: Examination
The Korean (continuers) examination consists of two assessments: an oral examination and a written examination that are assessed externally.
- The oral examination is weighted at 30% of the external assessment
- The written examination is weighted at 70% of the external assessment.
Oral examination
The oral examination takes approximately 10 - 15 minutes and has two sections:
- Section 1: Conversation (approximately 5 -7 minutes)
- Section 2: Discussion (approximately 5 -8 minutes).
Students complete an In-depth study outline for oral examination form [DOC 1.5MB]. For oral examinations held at a central venue or a country school venue, students hand the outline to the examiners. For telephone or videoconference oral examinations, the outline is emailed to askSACE.sa.gov.au by the end of Term 3.
All oral examinations are conducted via an online video conferencing platform.
The complete timetable for oral examinations will be provided to schools in early September. The date of the oral examination will be available on the Korean (continuers) online calendar.
Written examination
Students undertake one written 3 hour examination, which has three sections:
- Section 1: Listening and Responding
- Section 2: Reading and Responding
- Section 3: Writing in Korean.
The written examination for Korean at continuers level is designed by the New South Wales Board of Studies.
Refer to the subject outline for details of the examination requirements.
